Solana Foundation Unveils Social Media Features Restoring Crypto on Twitter

The non-profit Solana Foundation facilitates seamless blockchain transactions by restoring crypto into ‘Crypto Twitter.’ It unveiled the Solana Actions to ease transactions alongside Solana Blinks for blockchain links.

The features unveiled on Tuesday, June 26, enable users to connect and execute transactions without exiting the website. The Actions and Blinks accommodate any website displaying a URL to use the new features.

Solana Foundation head of engineering Jon Wong hailed the move to explore the product primitives in an ambitious three-year’ project. He added that the blockchain key challenge emerges from appearing secluded in a corner of the internet.

Wong indicated that every task has to be crypto-aware, thereby turning into an annoying process. He illustrated that discussion forums mandate participants to utilize specific crypto wallets.

Wong hailed the wallet’s attempts to retrieve transactions from the unknown API using the familiar feature connected to the site prompt. The executive added that if the site domain had been associated in previous cases, it would have retained its trustworthy status.

Wong explained that the Actions and Blinks mirror wallet connection to the decentralized app (dApp). He added that individuals should trust the sites they are aware of just as they do the dApps they use.

Delivering Universal Blockchain Database

The Solana Foundation indicated that besides social media and website transactions, the developers can now generate physical QR codes. During the launch, Wong confirmed the addition of Phantom, Dialect, and Backpack wallet extensions on the “trusted” actions URLs on Twitter.

Wong hailed the features as transforming the blockchain into a universal database for different actions. He added that it eases the execution of various services, including Telegram, Slack, and Whatsapp, whenever one desires to build recognition for the links.

Solana Actions and Blinks are the latest in the series of blockchain projects that target making crypto social. Mask Network and Bitcoin Tips are other initiatives that enabled social media transactions.

The partners onboarding in Solana Actions and Blink’s unveiling are Access, Helium, Realms, Phantom, Truffle, and Jupiter. Backpack, Sanctum, Tensor, Helius, and Solana-based Dialect are also joining.

Wong indicated that Twitter is the initial platform to integrate Solan Action and Blinks, giving it a crypto-native experience. He added that the Dialect’s tagline is restoring crypto Twitter.

Dialect involves a Solana-based smart messaging service that utilizes compressed non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Dialect supports the decentralized app notifications alongside the wallet-to-wallet chats.

Wong considers that subsequent Solana Actions and Blinks for the wallets will integrate features facilitating inferring trustworthiness regardless of past website utilization. Wong believes the start with Twitter is ‘Day Zero’ though it assures integration into other websites and layering onto the internet.
